Why We Still Get Calls Years After the Build — And What That Means to Us
We got a call recently from a family we built a home for in Black Creek years ago. They love the community. They love the home. And their life had evolved — kids are older, their needs had shifted, and they were ready to reimagine some spaces. It's our fourth remodel in Black Creek. And that first home — the one we're currently mid-remodel on — was also the first custom home we ever built there. That's not a detail we take lightly.
What a return client means
When someone calls us back years after their build, they're not just hiring a contractor. They're saying something about the relationship. They're saying the experience was good enough — and the trust was deep enough — that when it was time to change something about the most important physical place in their lives, we were the first call they made.
That's the thing we're most proud of. Not the square footage. Not the finish selections. The call.
The truth about relationships in this business
Custom home building is, at its core, a people business. The homes are beautiful — we work hard to make sure they are — but the finished product is the result of a relationship that carried through disagreements and decisions and delays and discovery. Through the moments when things got hard and the moments when they came together exactly right. When that relationship is built on trust, something lasting happens. The client doesn't just have a great home — they have a team they know. A team they'd call again. A team they'd send their friends to. That's the kind of building company we set out to be. And every time a past client comes back — for a remodel, a new home in a new community, a renovation to make room for a new chapter — it tells us we're on the right track.
What remodeling means to us
There's something meaningful about remodeling a home you built. You know the bones. You know where the decisions were made and why. You understand the vision the family started with, and now you get to help them evolve it. Great craftsmanship is built to last — and built to change when life asks it to. That's what we're doing right now in Black Creek: taking a home we're proud of and making it even more reflective of who this family is today.
We can't wait to share the reveal.
If you're thinking about a remodel
We work on remodels as well as new builds — and we bring the same process, the same trade partners, and the same standard of craftsmanship to both. If your home was built by us and it's time to revisit some spaces, we'd love to hear from you. And if it wasn't built by us — we're still worth a conversation.
